sadly seems to have become a thing of the past. Having been largely replaced by the Internet,
offering a vast volume of resources. Unfortunately, largely missing the regional community encompassed by the BBS.

B.B.S. - Bulletin Board Service, A text based system accessed from a computer, not unlike a terminal system. Originally accessed
by dialup modem, and more recently by telnet over the Internet. It was one of the pre-cursers to the now popular Internet. Having allowed
multiple people to connect online, chat, play various interactive games, access file libraries, and use e-mail.
All done typing commands at text based menus, usually employing multi-colored ANSI "graphics".
